Antwerp, 17 June 2025 - Q8 is rolling out a digital food market concept at its fuel and fast-charging stations, offering tacos, pizza, burgers, and more. Customers can order these ready-made meals either online for delivery by bike courier or at self-service kiosks in the station.
The Q8-station in Luik will be the first of five pilot stations. With this new concept, in collaboration with the Danish start-up Noahs, Q8 aims to become a true food and retail hub for people on the go. “Today’s consumers expect more than just a sandwich or coffee on the road. They want a more extensive, high-quality, and digital food offering for both lunch and dinner. Customers want healthy choices and quality— whether on-site or delivered to their home,” says Sarah Pillen, Shop & Retail Performance Manager at Q8. The ambition is to equip 75 stations with this food market concept in the coming years.

‘Spotify for food
Q8 wants to become a full-fledged retail hub for Belgians on the move by expanding its offering of meals and groceries. “Belgian consumers increasingly expect shopping and dining options on the go, as well as digital ordering possibilities,” says Sarah Pillen. “Our research among consumers clearly shows this trend. We're responding by introducing this innovative food concept at five locations, in collaboration with the Danish start-up Noahs.”
“What Spotify has done for music, we now want to do for food,” explains Daniel Baven, CEO of Noahs. “Service and charging stations are the ideal base for this with their large and diverse audience looking for as much convenience on-the-go as possible.”

Smart kitchens offering a wide range of high quality and freshly made dishes
The food market concept operates using smart, compact kitchens. From a space as small as
1 square meter, high quality versions of popular dishes like tacos, burgers, poke bowls, and salads are freshly prepared. Everything is delivered daily from a central food hub and made to order. This way, Q8 offers a more diverse lunch and dinner range to customers at their stations and online.
Q8 also expects this expanded offer to draw consumers to the station at multiple times of the day. “At the moment the morning and afternoon are particularly busy, but we also want to draw this more into the evening. And with this additional offer of fresh meals and through digital platforms, we believe this is possible.”
“We are convinced this is the future,” says Sarah Pillen. “It’s a concept we’ve already successfully launched at our Danish Q8 stations. It’s very popular there, and we believe it will be a game-changer in Belgium as well.”
Order online and have it delivered
For those without time to stop by, everything can also be ordered online — not just meals, but also groceries from the Delhaize Shop & Go and Panos. Orders are delivered by bike courier — to your home, office, or wherever you are.
And Q8 goes even further than just meal delivery. “The most important /popular products from our Delhaize Shop & Go and Panos can be ordered online and delivered via bike courier to nearby customers, as long as the station is within a delivery zone,” explains Sarah Pillen. “So, if you need groceries along with your meal, you can have it all delivered at once.”
Expansion to 75 stations
Q8 is starting with the station in Liège and has plans to quickly expand to 40 delivery zones and 75 food market locations. Most new Q8 electric fast-charging stations will also feature this concept.
“We are not going to remain a convenience store. The world is changing fast. We see a future where Q8 becomes a digital marketplace for great food and daily necessities. Our network of stations are ideal hubs to pivot into this new emerging food and convenience industry”, says Sarah Pillen.
