Sustainability at Q8

Toward a cleaner future and net zero by 2050

At Q8, we are committed to using resources responsibly and developing products and services that are cleaner and greener. That is why we continue to invest in EV charging infrastructure, sustainable energy and energy efficiency. We are also supporting sustainable mobility and business practices. Our goal is to reduce our environmental footprint and make a positive impact for today’s generations and those to come.

Q8’s three sustainability ambitions

Accelerate toward net zero

Our aim is a net positive impact by 2050 across our entire value chain.

Better ways of doing business

We create sustainable value through innovation and collaboration.

Grow with people

We invest in people and support the communities around us.

Accelerate toward net zero

When it comes to sustainable mobility, Q8 is shifting up a gear. To reach our net-zero goals, we focus on three main areas:

  • Expanding our EV charging infrastructure with new locations, in partnership with Storm, to support the growing number of electric vehicles.

  • Investing in clean energy by installing solar panels at suitable locations to reduce our environmental impact.

  • Improving energy efficiency by upgrading refrigeration systems in over 120 of our stores to cut energy use.

Better ways of doing business

Q8 is committed to new, more sustainable ways of working:

  • Promoting circularity through IT waste initiatives, reusable coffee cups at offices and collaboration with Too Good To Go to reduce food waste.

  • Introducing a sustainable supplier code to support a responsible value chain.

  • Encouraging greener commuting with sustainable mobility solutions and obtaining ISO 9001 and 14001 certifications for quality and environmental management.

Grow with people

To promote the well-being and development of our people, Q8 has introduced a number of concrete initiatives:

  • Through our BeWell program, we support the physical, mental and social well-being of team members with webinars, training, connection events and team-led initiatives.

  • Each employee receives an average of 44 hours of training per year to boost skills and knowledge.

  • We invest in diversity and inclusion, with 43% of our workforce and 37% of management roles held by women.
