1. What personal data are processed?
Through our website, we will in principle not collect personally identifiable information about you ("personal data"), unless you voluntarily choose to provide it to us by, for example, by registering, asking a question via e-mail or completing a questionnaire. If you do not wish your personal data to be collected, please do not send it to us.
Through our website and other means of communication within our business activities, we may collect the following personal data:
Through contact, complaint, comment forms and forms to report defects we collect: your name, phone number email address and information about your question, complaint, comment or defect;
When you contact us by phone or email we collect: your name, phone number and/or email address;
When you schedule a consultation with us we collect information about your company, your name, phone number, email address and information about your question;
When you request an online quote for a Q8 liberty card, Q8 electric charging card or charging stations for your business, we collect from the applicant their name, address, phone number and email address. More information about the processing of your personal data when you request a quote or want to become a Q8 liberty or electric customer can be found in a separate privacy statement.
When you request a quote for a mobility card online, we collect from the applicant information about their company, their name, phone number, email address and information about their request. When you want to request a mobility card, you will be redirected to the website of our mobility partner XXimo. More information about the processing of personal data by XXimo can be found on the XXimo website.
In addition, we may also collect your IP address and current location.
KPB may also process personal data from customers participating in the Q8 smiles loyalty program (via the Q8 app or smiles website). More information on the processing of your personal data in this context can be found in a separate privacy statement.
CCTV
The places where we use CCTV are generally private places accessible to the public (e.g. service or charging stations) or exceptionally private areas (e.g. enclosed parking lots).
In Belgium, we use CCTV systems for surveillance and monitoring as defined in the Belgian Camera Law. Aspects not explicitly regulated by the Camera Law are covered by the GDPR, such as technical, operational or general surveillance of (unmanned) sites.
In Luxembourg, CCTV is used for the same purposes as in Belgium, but in accordance with Luxembourg law.
In the Netherlands, CCTV is also used for the same purposes, including fighting fraud, abuse or other breaches and protecting our property in the same way.
Images from (surveillance) cameras are processed in accordance with applicable legislation and are used for the following purposes:
1. surveillance (security objective) and monitoring, including the prevention, ascertainment or detection of crimes against persons or property or other violations (e.g. nuisance) and also to identify the culprits, witnesses or victims such as the identification of persons involved in fraudulent use of fuel or charging cards and systems, or violation of customs and excise regulations and/or;
2. to record persons or events causing damage to members of the Kuwait Petroleum Group and/or;
3. for technical / operational verifications at Kuwait Petroleum sites.
Q8 liberty and Q8 electric customers are specifically requested to inform their cardholders in a timely manner about the processing of their personal data, including through camera usage.
Surveillance activities are carried out through licensed surveillance companies. In addition, to the extent permitted by law, we may use live and/or recorded CCTV images for technical purposes (such as pump release prior to payment) and where possible for limited surveillance activities.
The footage will not be retained longer than permitted by law unless the footage contains evidence of a crime or damage or to identify perpetrators and witnesses. The images may be turned over to police, judicial authorities and insurance companies for handling damage to our property.
We are not responsible for the use of CCTV by the dealer operating a service station. If you have any questions about this, you should contact the relevant dealer.
Non-personal data collected automatically
When you visit our website, we may also collect information that cannot be identified as personal, including but not limited to your type of internet browser and computer operating system; domain name of the website you previously visited; number of visits, average time spent there and pages viewed. We may use this information and distribute it within the Kuwait Petroleum Group to analyze the use of our website and improve its content.
Personal data collected through station finder
Through our station finder, you can search for nearby Q8 service or charging stations. Using the available filters, you can narrow your search. This information is neither stored nor shared with third parties.
2. On what legal basis do we rely to process your personal data?
Your personal data will be processed when:
You have given us your free, specific, informed and unambiguous expression of your wishes;
We will need to process your personal data in order to provide the services you have requested;
The processing is necessary to protect our legitimate interests, specifically: the economic, commercial and financial interests, business continuity, security and confidentiality of customer information and products and the security of digital and physical infrastructures;
The processing may be necessary to comply with legal obligations, resting on KPB as a result of certain legislation.

We need to process necessary personal data to provide you with the service you have requested. Profiling
The processing of personal data for profiling purposes will be based on obtaining prior, specific consent from the user. With the user's prior consent, relevant data and non-extraordinary data about individuals may be collected and stored for profiling or to improve the services offered based on users' needs.
4. With whom may we share your personal data?
Intra-group sharing
As the Kuwait Petroleum Group of companies also operates outside the European Economic Area, the information you transmit to us may be transferred outside the European Economic Area. Such transfers are covered by an intra-group agreement that provides specific contractual protections to ensure that your personal data receives an appropriate and consistent level of protection, regardless of where it is transferred within the Kuwait Petroleum Group and only after a case-by-case transfer test has taken place. In any case, your personal data will be shared only when necessary for the realization of the purposes mentioned above.

Mobility partners
We may use social media plug-ins such as Facebook and Instagram on our website if you choose to do so. Through these social media facilities some of your personal information may be shared with these parties. Your personal data will be kept for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose for which the personal data was originally collected . 7. What rights do you possess with respect to your personal data?
Under data protection legislation, under certain conditions, you have the right to access your personal data, as well as the right to correct, supplement and/or delete your personal data.
