As of March, drivers of electric vehicles can use the Q8 & Tango electric app or card to charge at 200,000 charging points across Europe and at almost all existing charging stations in the Benelux. By linking up with fast-charging company Fastned and the largest international e-roaming platforms Hubject and GIREVE, Q8 & Tango electric thus double the number of European chargers in its network. For Q8, it is a great new step in its transformation into a more sustainable Mobility player.

Just over a year ago, Q8 launched a brand new offer for customers with an electric car, called Q8 electric (in Belgium and Luxembourg) and Tango electric (in the Netherlands). The company launched Q8 & Tango electric charging stations at its own stations and at locations of partners. Now there are 80 owned charging location in the Benelux. On the other hand, Q8 wants to give its customers as much access as possible to charging locations all over Europe via one app or card. Before long, customers were able to charge via the Q8 or Tango electric app or card at nearly 110,000 charging points.

Doubling and accelerating access to charging stations

Q8 almost doubled that number in one fell swoop. Through partnerships with Europe's largest e-roaming platforms Hubject and GIREVE - each linking thousands of charging networks - Q8 & Tango electric customers now have access to no fewer than 200,000 charging stations across Europe and virtually all charging stations in the Benelux (98%). In addition, Q8 has also entered into a direct peer-to-peer alliance (not via a platform) with the European fast-charging company Fastned.

Through this partnership, Q8 customers will also be able to charge at the nearly 800 (ultra) fast Fastned chargers. "We are very proud to be able to work with strong partners like Fastned and the Hubject and GIREVE platforms. We can now offer our customers much broader access to charging points through one Q8 application. We are convinced that this will provide great added value for the rapidly growing number of electric drivers", says Geert De Mil, E-mobility Manager at Q8.

Sustainable mobility

"The scaling up of e-mobility must take place in an open and connected market, enabling services to expand. We are delighted to share this vision with Q8 & Tango electric, working together to provide EV drivers with a simpler and seamless experience," said Maria Pirpan, Key Account Manager at GIREVE, Europe's leading digital platform for e-mobility.

Q8's ambition extends even further. "Ultimately, we want to become the sustainable mobility player for everyone on the go, and in a more sustainable way. We will therefore continue to expand both our own network and the access to chargers via partners, and supplement them with additional services", concludes Geert De Mil.
